It all began with a camera, of course.

Could a love story between two Leos start any other way?

In 2016, Claire & her Dad built a camera called the Pi8 together and it ended up getting a little press.

Meanwhile in Los Angeles, Hamilton had made the jump from the entertainment industry to tech and had restarted his love affair with projects. On May 28, 2016 somewhere on the internet Hamilton intersected with the Pi8 Camera and decided that he had everything he needed to make his own version. This is a pretty normal thing to do in Ham-land.

On June 11, 2016 Hamilton tagged Claire's instagram and thanked her for inspiration on a photo collage of his pi8 camera, roommate Karlee's dog Ollie, and a selfie taken with the pi8.

Claire remember's this moment distinctly - it was already nighttime in Texas and she immediately went to the house landing to relay the news to her Dad that some guy on the internet had built their camera.

They followed each other on instagram and that was it.

In January 2017, Claire moved to Los Angeles. After seeing her "I moved to LA" post Hamilton decided to direct message her and lend his support and a few weeks later, he invited her to a ninja turtles themed keg party for his friends 30th birthday. He maintains that he was not trying to date Claire.

They decided to meet at The Grove Starbucks before the party so Claire could decide if he was an internet stalker or not. Her family was convinced he was and texted her every five minutes the entire night.

A few days later on Valentine's day Hamilton texted Claire a series of neutral non-romantic emoji's (apparently, at this point, still not trying to date her) and she decided to invite him to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena to see Van Gogh's "The Bedroom" painting.

She liked him, and she was trying to date him, so she bought both tickets to the museum in advance.

Somewhere in the middle of that date, Hamilton decided to date Claire.

A month or so later, he brought her a vintage french makeup case with an elephant on it that he had made into a travel watercolor set. He has been communicating his feelings by making her things ever since.

They share a love of ideas, cameras, quirky home goods, coffee and of course their dog Loki.

On March 12, 2022, nearly 6 years to the day that the fateful youtube video was posted, Hamilton proposed to Claire at Lakeway City Park overlooking Lake Travis in Austin,TX. They spotted two birds during this time, a blue heron and a woodpecker.

The Blue Heron represents the stillness and tranquility needed for making decisions.

The Woodpecker, in Native American traditions, is seen as natures heartbeat, and represents how we can make the world better by strengthening our bonds to each other.
